Rhythm & Blues
concert posters

I will pay top dollar for original R&B concert posters like these: Johnny Ace and Big Mama Thornton in Indianapolis, IN, Feb. 21, 1954; Ike and Tina Turner before their Revue was born, in San Francisco, CA, Nov. 6, 1960; James Brown and his show in Knoxville, TN, July 28, 1962; Sam Cooke in Chesapeake, VA, July 27, 1963; Marvin Gaye in British Columbia, Canada, May 23, 1964; and Otis Redding in Houston, TX, March 22, 1966. These posters are all original, all printed before the event for the sole purpose of selling tickets.

These authentic R&B concert posters span over a dozen years, arcing from the pacific northwest down to the deep south. Every one of these posters has a unique or unusual twist to it, from Johnny Ace’s stapled-on date change to Marvin Gaye’s double-take venue to Ike & Tina rattling the Fillmore’s walls before promoter Bill Graham would take it over and change the world five years later.
